I am trying to build a recommendation system using Non-negative matrix factorization. The reinforce_baseline function is nearly identical to the prior algorithm, the only thing we added here were the value estimation commands and the updates to the value estimation network.
The tutorial also assumes the reader is familiar with how Kaggle competitions work. In a standard convolutional autoencoder, the goal is for the network to reconstruct the input image. The convolution layers, in this case, discern the features that are most important for accurately reconstructing the input. During training, the network is fed two frames and asked to guess at what the third frame should look like. To train the network, I asked it to perform a task that most people would find fairly simple.
During each iteration, the optimizer will update the weights and biases based on the loss function. Under a new function, train_neural_network, we will pass data. Policies And Action
The predict method defined in the network above returns the output of the softmax output, meaning we will get a probability over the action space when we call it. When training, we can then sample the actions according to the probabilities that are output, so for the Cart-Pole, where we have two actions , we may get something like [0.1, 0.9] out.
