Trying FetLife
Shortly after my break up, I signed up for FetLife, as I mentioned in my first post. I thought, “Let’s see what I may find in this attractively kinky world. What’s the worst that could happen, right? ”
At first, I wasn’t getting any messages, friend invites, etc. and being the awkward newbie that I was, I sure as hell didn’t want to break the ice with any of the users. What was the proper etiquette. Was there a proper etiquette? I think part of that was because I had yet to post a profile photo. I know that I am more likely to respond to someone if they have a photo; it makes them seem more legit, I guess. Once I did post a profile photo, one hiding part of my face (didn’t want anyone who possibly knew me finding me), the messages started rolling in.
On a site such as FetLife, you get a plethora of types and personalities. The most annoying types to me are the horn-dogs who just want to get laid, but claim to be a “Dom” – you’re not a Dom, you want sex. (Sorry if I go on tangents… it’s a habit.) I remember getting conversation openers such as, “Hey gorgeous, wanna fuck,” or my personal favorite, “Can you come over and let me eat your pussy and ass?” Not the best starters in my opinion.
There were also the Doms who seemed real and knew what the lifestyle was actually about. Many of them were very welcoming to a new sub and open to at least talking to me about BDSM. There were some I had even thought about meeting up with. I never did because I met Sir. Some seemed to assume that I was a little because I am young in the lifestyle. An honest mistake, but even when I would correct them and say I was just a sub and not a baby girl, they still treated me like they were my Daddy. Being that type of person who still calls her biological father Daddy, I would just feel weird if I called a sexual partner by that name, but that’s just my personal preference.
Then I connected with my kinky match. The man who I would eventually call Sir messaged me and we began talking. He was newer to the site as well, but not to the lifestyle, having a sub or two before me. He said that found me intriguing as a new sub. One of the things that really set him apart from other Doms that I had chatted with was the fact that he wanted to know about not just my fetishes and sexual tastes, but also who I was as a person and my other interests. He engaged me in more intelligent conversation than what I had experienced with other users I had chatted with. I needed to know more about this man. So after about a week of chatting and establishing a bit of a dynamic already, I jumped in feet first and agreed to meet him at a local Starbucks by my university to see if we clicked. More juicy details on that occasion to come, worry you not. I’ll kiss and tell.

If any of you are on FetLife, tell me about your experience with the site. I know it’s pretty hit or miss for some, but it’s done some great things for me when I was breaking into the lifestyle.
